Mostafa Kamal:
Mostafa Kamal is an immigrant in Toronto emigrated from Bangladesh in 2011 as an Internationally educated social worker. He holds a long work experience about 28 years of various positions with international development organizations in Bangladesh like CARE International, Action on Disability and Development, Concern Worldwide, ICOMP- Malaysia as well as he has been working in Toronto with community agencies. Mostafa is a registered social worker with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW).
Mostafa holds Master’s degree in Sociology from Bangladesh, attended International Community Health course in University of Oslo, Norway. He also completed certificate in Social Work Practice, and Bachelor of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University, and Master of Social Work from University of Waterloo, Ontario. Amirul Islam:
Amirul Islam has education and extensive working experiences in the field of social services and community development. He completed a post-graduate diploma in International Project Management from Humber College and certificate course as well in Community Mental Health Case Management from George Brown, Toronto, Ontario. Mr. Islam graduated in Social Work from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He holds M. Phil in Anthropology from National University, Bangladesh. He collected primary data on ‘micro-credit and its impacts on borrowers’ and wrote a monograph for the degree.
Amirul Islam worked for several government and non-government agencies and organizations as a front-line employee for over a decade in the Greater Toronto Area. The organizations he worked with included seniors’ centers, newcomers and settlement services, adult day programs, shelter and housing, and services for Developmental delay clients. Currently, he is working for senior clients.
In his personal life, Mr. Islam has profound love for learning history of different civilizations and cultures. His interest in gardening involved him with the community garden that supports a community kitchen and Food Bank, as well as a homeless shelter. Moreover, he loves connecting with nature; an activity that includes visiting parks, hiking and/or running trails, often covering quarters or half the distance of a marathon.
Jakaria Muhammad Moyen Uddin:
Completed Bachelor’s in Applied Science in Family and Community Social Service Program in 2012 from University of Guelph, ON; Diploma in Social Service Worker in 2008 from Humber College, Toronto, ON; Community Mental Health Case Management Certificate in 2013 from George Brown College, Toronto.
Completed Bachelor from Bangladesh Agricultural University, 1991 and Master’s in plant pathology from same university in 1997.
Presently working for a permanent fulltime position in Mental Health & Justice program of the LOFT Community services since 2019. Previously worked in the same organization in Crosslinks Homeless Initiative program. Assisting clients’ court appointments, liaison with probation officer, couching clients and assist them improving their housing, budgeting, cooking, cleaning skills. Also, presently working for a permanent part-time position since 2013 in residential program of the Regeneration Community Services which is a charitable not-for-profit community mental health and addictions organization that provides housing and support services to adults living with mental health and/or addiction issues.
Before coming to Canada worked as a Training officer in Village and Farm forestry projects of INTERCOOPERATION (IC), an International non-profit Swiss organization for development cooperation and involved identifying Training Need Assessment (TNA), conducting training for coworkers and partner organization staff, developing training materials, training modules, leaflets etc. Earlier worked in NGO Gardening and Nutrition Education Surveillance Project (NGNESP) of Helen Keller International, an international non-profit agency working for prevention of blindness and welfare impaired in the society. The project encouraged production and consumption of Vitamin A enriched vegetables and fruits that plays a vital role in overcoming night blindness as well as other physiologic disorder due to nutritional lacking.

Mahbub Alam:
Mahbub Alam is a registered Social Worker with a Master’s in social work form University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University (Formerly Ryerson University) on Canadian Social Work Practice program. Mr. Alam has over 9 years of experience working in shelter, community settings and financial sector addressing homelessness, poverty, domestic violence, mental health and /or addictions and financial issues. Blessed with the opportunity to work with marginalized people from diverse background from both Canada and internationally. Mr. Alam has current and previous work experience with clients/families living with psycho/social/physical, emotional and/or environmental issues. As a social work professional, Mr. Alam’s practice is grounded on client-centered approach, Anti-oppressive framework, non-judgmental attitude and from a core belief of client’s dignity and worth.
Mr. Alam is experienced in assessments using variety of clinical assessment tools, developing and implementing care plan, problem solving, referral, follow up and crisis intervention. He is skilled in engagement, active listening, counselling, inter-personal communication, de-escalation and conflict resolution. Knowledgeable of social determinants of health, community resources in GTA and social work legislations such as Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Health Care Consent Act, the Ontario Works Act and the Ontario Disability Support Program, Mr. Alam is open to learn and committed to his professional development.

Moshfaques Salehin:
Moshfaqus Salehin is a social service worker for more than two decades. He is a full time professional in social service in Canada. Currently, he is working in the non-profit housing sector in Toronto with Houselink & Mainstay Community Housing. Moshfaqus started his career in 1999 in Bangladesh with marginalized population like: sex workers, substance users, LGBTQ communities for HIV AIDS Prevention and community mobilization through empowerment. Till 2014 he worked in Bangladesh where he implemented several projects and programs. In 2015, he migrated to Canada and obtained a Social Service Worker Diploma from Humber College Toronto and has been working since 2016 in social service settings for people with homelessness. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Bangladesh.
Saiful Aziz:
Saiful Aziz who is a social service worker for more than 17 years. He holds a Master’s in Finance Degree from Bangladesh and a Social Service Worker diploma from Humber college, Canada. In addition to the educational qualifications, he has many certificates of professional training.
In Bangladesh, he was a project manager in a charity organization where he served and worked for the disadvantaged people. In that organization, he had a couple of roles. including fund management, planning and implementation and reorganize and ensure the service and support based on client feedback .
In Canada, he is working with people who have mental health and addiction problem as well social, and mental health crisis and counseling.
Right now, he is working with the Gerstein Crisis Center for mental health and justice safe bed program. He also worked for Toronto Community Crisis Service program in the same organization.
